Operations Manager - Leading FMCG Business - Peterborough

Client Details

A leading FMCG business are actively looking for an Operations Manager on an initial 12 month contract with a view to either a long term extension or permanent role within the site / business. After already dominating their sector, the business have decided to invest into their operation opening up a secondment at an Operations Manager level.

This person needs to be able to start in the role in January 2019, commutable to Peterborough and be comfortable with an initial 12 month contract position. The role is on a day shift across a Monday - Friday working week between the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 with flexibility required.

Description

The Operations Manager role will require the following duties:
  • Report to the Site Manager
  • Full site H&S control
  • Act as the key individual on site around daily operational duties
  • Manage a team of 50+ operatives through 2 direct reports across various shifts
  • Be responsible for the entire stock flow within the operation
  • Have full control of the operating budget for headcount
  • Be responsible for the inventory management through your teams
  • Accountable for people development within the operation
  • Daily communication with various key clients within the business

Profile

The successful candidate for the Operations Manager role will have the following skills and experiences:
  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background
  • A minimum of 3+ years Logistics management experience
  • Have managed in excess of 40+ staff previously
  • Experience within an FMCG / Food / 3PL environment - Advantageous
  • IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications - advantageous
  • Have experience of LEAN methodologies
  • Experience on managing budgets and overseeing cost control
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Be results driven
  • Be commutable to Peterborough.
