Load planning for all Freight using Truck Management System (TMS)
Determine and select most logical outbound freight schedule.
Review and distribute shipping schedule and resolve service issues with Transportation Team Manager.
Decides the routes and designate carriers in accordance with DOT regulations, performance history and rate analysis to cover the outbound freight.
Communicates daily load assignments in the most effective and economical routing mix.
Execution of load tendering process in the computerized (web based) Truck Management System (TMS).
Assist approved carriers with setting pickup appointments at Grande Cheese facilities, inbound and outbound.
Maintain and evaluate data or other critical input required to create a meaningful Carrier Scorecard.
Assist carriers/distributors with transportation issues (after "regular business" hours when necessary).
Coordination and documentation of all transportation related transactions
Monitor Customer Pickup (CPU) pallet payments and reconcile exchange balances as required.
Assist with weekly/monthly reporting and input for the annual transportation presentation.
Support Customer Service and Production Planning with short notice order change requests.
Assist Transportation Team Manager with any field related claims for Over, Short & Damage issues.
Process credits/debits as necessary and all freight claims to carriers if applicable.
Arrange Fed Ex samples/cheese order requests when needed.
Provide weekly assessment of "Intra-Plant Transport" activity
Review Transport Logs and record critical KPIs
Research and rectify any invalid or open ERP/DAX transactions.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, Logistics. College degree preferred
Minimum 3 years previous work experience in distribution/transportation field. Perishable food and Truck Management System experience would be very beneficial.
