A Major Retailer within globally recognised brands, are currently seeking a Buying Manager for Marketing Services to drive there procurement strategies, increase flexibility and reduce costs.

Areas of responsibility will include taking on both project and non-project related tasks such as:

- Managing a team of procurement professionals.

ability to demonstrate deep category expertise in Marketing, in addition a broad
experience working across multiple category areas.

Ownership (TCO) concept in constructing simple tenders and evaluation criteria.
- Excellent communicator, with the confidence to communicate at all levels of the

Essential Functions:
1. Procure corn from primarily producer customers and manage producer database.
2. Manage basis reporting to POET Risk Management.
3. Monitor competitiveness for cash corn bids.
4. Manage the communication and execution of contract alternatives for producers.
5. Maintain inventory tracking systems and ensure grain is available at all times.
6. Manage grain grading and dockage according to USDA specifications.
7. Support the process of DDGS storage, ethanol storage, loading and logistics.
8. Hold a minimum of 2 producer meetings per crop year.
9. Monitor the Chicago Board of Trade and inform management of movements, USDA reports and future projections.
10. Remain familiar with area and CBOT grain prices at all times.
11. Handle CBOT trades to offset company risks associated with various farmer contacts.
12. Monitor the purchasing and blending of damaged or distressed grains used in the process.
13. Assist the Weigh Master during breaks as needed.
14. Complete any and all tasks assigned by Commodities Manager.
15. Regular attendance.
16. Maintain a team environment with other plant departments.
17. Champion POET Biorefining-Cloverdale in the community.
18. Maintain a high level of customer service and friendly atmosphere.
19. Others duties as assigned.

Education:

B.S. or greater in Ag-Business or Marketing or other formal training is required.

Experience:

Three (3) - five (5) years experience working within the grain marketing industry is necessary.

Be proficient with Microsoft Office tools as well as DBC.
